The Michigan Voter Information Center is a voluntary service provided by the state to support voter access to registration and information. The personal information collected here is used to identify you as a voter and provide services to you as authorized by MCL 168.509ii, MCL 168.759, MCL 168.759a, and MCL 168.764c and as written in the Michigan Department of State privacy policy.
The information collected on this form is only what is needed to complete your transaction as authorized by law. As a public body, MDOS is subject to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), MCL 15.231 et seq., and information such as a name or address may be disclosed in response to a FOIA request. Information may be shared with business partner organization as permitted by law. Your driver’s license or Social Security number, day or month of birth, email, phone number, or your decision to register won’t be shared.
The information you provide will be used to register you to vote, update your voter record, or find election data customized to you. Updating your address within MVIC will result in your address being updated on your driver’s license. MVIC can be used to update your communication preferences with your clerk’s office. If you wish to cancel your voter registration and you have not received a notice of cancellation, you must contact your local clerk’s office.
By submitting your personal information to MVIC, you consent to the Michigan Department of State using the information you provided as described.
